Accelerate your communication skills

Being an international language, a must way of communication, the Hobson’s choice to survive, are such ubiquitous phrases, we every now and then get the load of. “English” as lingua franca (=a language used between people whose main languages are different) has undoubtedly pervaded in every sphere of life making itself overriding for all and sundry.
The pressing a need to learn it has swiftly grown up to a greater extent. Keeping its significance in the view, many seen striving on their own whereas the rest driven from pillar to post. As they say, one can surely reach their destination even with the slowest possible pace if stuck at the right direction_ Yes, the direction has to do a lot with the idea of learning it.
Most commonly given suggestion are; reading newspapers, watching English movies, listening to English songs, reading story books and all that jazz. Besides, bear it in mind that these suggestions are for those who didn’t have the privilege to study in a convent school or apparently those meant to educate the well-heeled.
With no intention of getting deeper into this argument that why ways aren’t paved for the middle class or those who find it unaffordable to send their kids to such schools where they could get the quality education and above all the English-speaking environment, let’s explore how one can improve their communication skills.
First of all, make sure one doesn’t have the problems in the basic grammar. Talking of grammar at this point doesn’t mean to go for the wordy identifications as taught conventionally. Focusing on the grammar means to consult the foreign written books easily available on the markets now. Here the idea of GT (grammar translation method) gets involved with a little bit amalgamation of DT (the Direct method also known as Classical method). It sounds apparently technical, but it’s proved itself to be the- fastest-result-producing technique. Unlike the one employed in the schooling where things are supposedly learnt through environmental adaptation.
Secondly, if possible, try to mingle with the English speaking gatherings. Though, such environments are inaccessible to common people. And if they’re lucky enough to have such working environment, they’re way too hesitant to join in such discussions with a fear of being made a victim of leg-pulling. But they must remain determined to achieve their goals.
Thirdly, the commonest problem is to retain vocabulary in order to employ it when needed. For this purpose, one must try to use the words in phrases or sentences rather than making lists of them with their meanings in a mass practice fashion. Priority must be given to the keywords or the commonly used ones rather than getting gravitated towards such vocabulary items that are difficult to fathom.
Moreover, listening to easily understandable stuff in a repetitive manner is calculated to enhance fluency. Online sites available on the internet with features of audio stories and conversations are an open-sesame to sharpen one’s listening.
Summing it up, applying these tactics one may be able to translate their thought into the words to a surprising extent which is far better than being in a quandary about the institutions or falling prey to whatever sort of criticism it may be.

Coughing

Is it due to yet to be found the reason(s) or the generally acceptable idea of strong smells or dust we are allergic to? Whatever it is, susceptibility to the said things still seems far beyond the Ken of the advancement in the medical science. However, cough is a mechanism to clear the airway, “stated by Jonathan Parsons, MD, Director of the Cough Clinic at the Ohio State University.

It still is impenetrable to diagnose a cough just by the sound of it. However, there are a few major differences to help you have clues as to what’s happening inside. Let’s see what this cough really is.

Postnasal drip sounding kind of either a dry or wet cough caused by mucus dripping down your throat (reason could be allergies or a cold) tickling nerve endings, triggering coughing, Dr. Parsons says.

Symptoms could be cough being aggravated at night; tickly feeling at the back of your throat. If some kind of allergy is the reason, maybe it accompanies itchy eyes and sneezing.

Being referred to an allergist for skin testing is advisable if it’s because of a post-cold effect. Natural remedies believed to do wonders, like gargling with salt water and steam help relieve congestion, but if cough stays persistent for longer than a week see your doctor to rule out a sinus infection, which might call a requirement of antibiotics.

The patients of Asthma usually have dry cough sounding like rattling or wheezing with inflamed airways causing them have difficulty breathing. And when it worsens it results in chest tightness, shortness of breath and fatigue.

For diagnosis the doctor will most likely order spirometry, a lung function test. Treatment are two types of medications: quick-relief drugs (bronchodilators like albuterol, which make it easier to breathe) and drugs you take daily to keep asthma under control, such as leukotriene modifiers (like Singulair).

Now, when it comes down to a chronic, hacking cough producing a lot of mucus, especially in the morning, COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, includes both chronic bronchitis and emphysema mainly caused by smoking.

Comes then GRED (=gastroesophageal reflux disease); a dry spasmodic cough caused by the acid reaching esophagus. It is believed to be the second most common cause of chronic cough. Lying down or eating can worsen it, esp. when one goes to bed at night, its bouts begins causing heartburn and hoarseness.

The Examination may include an x-ray of your upper GI tract and/or an endoscopy (where your doctor inserts a thin, flexible tube down your throat to examine it). GERD is treated with OTC or prescription meds to reduce acid production, like Pepcid AC, Zantac, or Prilosec.

Now caused purely by smoking is COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; a chronic and mucus in a large quantity producing cough particularly in the morning.

Symptoms could be cough getting better as the day progresses; shortness of breath, especially with physical activity; wheezing, fatigue, and chest tightness.

Medical recommendation is to go for lung function tests such as spirometry and a chest x-ray. It is treated with meds like bronchodilators and inhaled steroids; imperative is to quit smoking. In extreme cases, oxygen therapy may be needed.
